Year 8 Volleyball
On Monday 18 November, our year 7 girls were invited to play at the State competition for Hockey. There was tough competition and the girls fought hard, but unfortunately weren’t able to make it out of their pool. Darani was able to provide her expertise and strong skills to help the girls throughout the day and Adele worked hard as the goalie saving some great shots! Special mention to Oliver Semmens Erickson for helping coach the girls and providing great support throughout the day. This was a great experience for the girls and they were very happy to be out and about playing.
Well done team!

On Friday 22 November, 5 of our Year 7 boys headed off to the Glen Waverley Sports Hub. It was a very hot day peaking at 35 degrees. The Tennis conveyor congratulated the teams participating as they were the last 8 teams remaining from 600 secondary schools. In our first two matches against Trinity and St. Josephs College we won all 8 singles matches which meant due to the weather we didn’t play doubles. In our third match against McKinnon SC we won 2 of 6 matches ( 10 sets to 20). These results saw us play off in the semi finals and possibly against State champions Doncaster East. Although we didn’t win we certainly went down fighting winning 14 of the 30 sets. It was a great day with our number one player Leon Suljovic being the star of the day winning all of his single matches. He could be classified as the best male Tennis player in the competing Victorian Schools. Oscar Gaymer and Liam Gowie our 2nd and 3rd ranked players played some great matches and showed great determination. Our 4th and 5th ranked players Oscar Sharp and Alessio Pasquale showed great form and improvement over the day. It was also pleasing to see 4 parents of our students turn up to support them. We all spoke at the end of the day and agreed we will be back even stronger next year!
