Year 10 Job Search Program
On the afternoon of Wednesday 30 October Year 10 students, looking very professional in their corporate attire, participated enthusiastically in the Job Search session. This event was the culmination of the Year 10 Classroom Careers program and the work that students have undertaken this semester to create detailed resumes, prepare job application letters and learn how to respond in a job interview. It was a valuable opportunity to test and trial interview techniques and answers and all students gained individual feedback after their interview.
Individual interviews were followed by a group interview run by Ps Matt Daly and a wellbeing session and afternoon tea run by the College Psychologist, Mrs Danielle Bruce, looking at decision making and supports in pathway planning.
My thanks go out to the wonderful team of teachers and employers that assisted as interviewers for the afternoon. The parent and employer team were Sheryl Barker, Jody Destry, David Griffiths, Philip Scharp, Travis Bail, Angela Peacock and Brialey Brightwell. Additional thanks to Ps Matt and Mrs Bruce for running sessions so capably across the afternoon.
