Grade 1/2 News

Welcome to Week 6 in the Grade 1/2 Area.

In Literacy, we’ve been exploring narrative writing and learning to plan stories with clear beginnings, problems, and solutions. 

Last week, students enjoyed creating their own stories, focusing on developing characters and settings using descriptive language.

In Maths, we’ve revisited the concepts of multiplication and division. 

Students have investigated the relationship between arrays and multiplication, as well as explored sharing and grouping. 

They were engaged in Challenging Maths Tasks where they explored what happens when numbers cannot be shared evenly.

In Religion, we’re nearing the end of our unit on Sacraments and Special Celebrations. Students have discussed how their family and friends show God’s love and explored the significance of sacramental celebrations in the life of the Church.

A big congratulations to our award winners and to classes ½ Dellicastelli and ½ Bettio for winning the Bernie Trophy. Thank you for demonstrating safety, respect, and responsibility. Keep up your terrific efforts.
