Assistant Principal

Year 11 & 12

On behalf of the college, I would like to wish each of our graduating year 12 students the very best of luck for their upcoming tertiary offers and future employment opportunities.   VCE results are on track to be released on the 12 December. A reminder that Ms. Charalambous is available for appointments to discuss Tertiary change of preferences and can be contacted at the college on 94637300 or via TEAMS. Please check compass and look for a letter she mailed home regarding arranging appointments. We understand that this is a time which can be a confusing one for students and their families as they finalise post-secondary school options. As a school team we are here to support and assist you. Please don’t hesitate to contact us should you require assistance.

We are very much looking forward to celebrating the achievements of our year 12 students at this year’s Graduation Ceremony to be held at Ferraro Receptions on December the 16th.

Year 11 students concluded the year with their important Orientation program in readiness for year 12 in 2025. In this program students were provided with introductory work for their Unit 3 subjects and VCE /VM, including reading tasks that will be required to be completed over the summer break.  These are compulsory tasks and will be marked by teachers upon their return next year. These tasks go towards their first school assessed tasks and are essential for a strong start to year 12.

A reminder to parents and careers that semester two reports will be finalized and able to be viewed on Compass as of Monday the 16th of December. Please take the opportunity to view these with your child to celebrate their achievements and reflect on a busy second half year of schooling.

Any year 12 students should download and print these as they will not be available from the start of the new year.

I would like to thank Lana Siryani for all her remarkable leadership as Curriculum Leader in 2025 and to wish her all the best as she moves into a new role in the college in 2025.  She has spent several years supporting the facility leaders to implement the college teaching program and in doing so, ensuring that our curriculum delivery remains an exemplar of best teaching practice. I would also like to thank Sari Simpson in her role leading the college Literacy support program. Sari will be taking maternity leave for 2025. We wish her the very best in this exciting new journey.

Thank you to the wonderful Senior school Team of Kat Carmody, Simon Hill, Zaklina Zdraveska, Mario Ladnjak, Olivia Marangos and Christine Sakellaris. They have guided and assisted our lovely senior school students throughout this busy year. Their daily demonstrations of care and professionalism has been impeccable and is testimony to the wonderful community of committed staff we have here at the College, who work above and beyond in support of our students. Students are and always will be at the center of all we do here at Lalor secondary college.

As always, I would also like to take this opportunity to thank parents and careers for your ongoing support of the college throughout this year. We certainly appreciate your partnering alongside us in this important educational journey for all our students.

Have a happy and healthy holiday. Looking very much forward to another wonderful year.

Best wishes,

Laura Forster
