Literacy
In Literacy, we have been focussing on narratives, with students using their knowledge of everything they have learnt over the past year to write a fantastic piece for our writing day. It has been incredible reading through all of their work, and we are very impressed with how far they have grown as writers this year!
Maths
Last week we finished the Big ideas 18 and 19 ‘Some questions can be answered by collecting and analysing data, and the question to be answered determines the data that needs to be collected and how best to collect it’, and ‘Data can be represented visually using tables, charts and graphs. The type of data determines the best choice of visual representation.’ This week we have started learning about the final two Big Ideas – 20 and 21 ‘There are special numerical measures that describe the centre and spread of numerical data sets’, and ‘The chance of an event occurring can be described numerically by a number between and 1 inclusive and used to make predictions about other events.’ The students have worked incredibly hard this year to get through all of the Big Ideas and we are so proud of their attitudes they have shown towards this new concept! Well done!
Integrated Studies
This Term, students have been working on developing a new service or product. They have worked in small groups to develop their business plans and are starting to put their ideas together, displaying them in a way they have chosen. In the coming weeks, we are going to hold an expo during school hours for the younger students to come and choose their favourite service or product that is on display. Good luck to all our 5/6s, we can’t wait to see what you create.

Last two weeks, 5/6A have taken out the class challenge, again... To their credit, the 5/6B never die attitude almost got them over the line in Volleyball last week. The come back was almost made, however 5/6A stuck to their guns and got the win. Best of 3 sets, the score was 2-1 5/6A winners!
