Reflection on the Year
As we close the chapter on this school year, it's a perfect moment to reflect on the remarkable journey we've shared with our students in the pastoral space. Watching our students grow and mature, achieving personal successes both inside and outside the classroom, has been truly rewarding.
This year, we've witnessed the remarkable growth of the Student Agency Team, whose ideas and suggestions amaze me. We also welcome our new, eager leaders ready to tackle 2025 and proudly represent our College. On Monday and Tuesday, we look forward to working with the 2025 Student Leaders at the leadership camp, where we will bond and plan ideas and goals for the upcoming year. This promises to be fun and productive as we prepare for the new year.
2025 College Captains Harley Cek, Claire Schrale, Henry Brammer and Amelia Sciani lead the first Student Agency Team meeting.
We have witnessed students striving to put their best foot forward and take responsibility for their actions. They have shown remarkable resilience, grappling with the pressures of being a young person in today's world. I take my hat off to them; it is undoubtedly challenging to grow up in these times.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to the many students who greet us with welcoming smiles, possess forgiving hearts, strive to do their very best, and are always willing to stop for a chat. They overcome obstacles daily and continue to try their hardest, both in and outside the classroom. Their willingness to forgive, grow, learn, and overall goodness are commendable.
I am also very grateful to work alongside dedicated staff, both teachers and non-teaching staff, who pour their hearts into this College daily. Their work with care, compassion, and empathy has been inspiring. The pastoral team of Ms Sonya Barnes, Ms Jac Patterson, Mrs Samantha Malcolm, and Mrs Michelle Brammer go above and beyond for the students in their pastoral house. As a team, we are sad to see Ms Patterson leave our College, but we wish her the best in her future endeavours, and we are incredibly grateful for her time at the College. Both students and staff will miss Ms Pat.
Finally, but not least, thank you to the families for trusting us every day with your precious children. Your support and understanding are deeply appreciated. We wish the students leaving our College for various reasons the best in their future endeavours and hope they look back on their time here at St Stephen's with fond memories.
I wish everyone a safe, restful, and blessed Christmas. We look forward to welcoming your child back in 2025 and another prosperous year.
