Deputy Principal

Mr Simon Vaughan, Deputy Principal

As we wrap up another incredible academic year, we are filled with pride and admiration for the tremendous efforts and accomplishments of our students across various subjects and disciplines. This year has been a testament to their resilience, creativity, and dedication.

In the realm of academics, our students have excelled beyond expectations. From outstanding performances in Mathematics and Science to remarkable achievements in Humanities and English, their hard work and passion for learning have truly shone through. Special congratulations to our Year 12 students who have completed their final exams and will now look towards a future of work or future study.

It is exciting to hear that many graduated students have already been employed as first year apprentices or preparing for university through early offers.  Please note that Year 12 subject marks will be available on Wednesday 11th December via the Student Portal on the MyQCE website.  Year 12 students are encouraged to make sure they have access to this portal in readiness for the release of marks. ATARs will then be available on Friday 13th December from QTAC with degree course offers happening in January.

In addition, our students have shown a strong commitment to community service. Their involvement in various projects, particularly the Christmas Appeal this term, highlights their dedication to making a positive impact on our community.  However, it is not just this term, Project Compassion, Fundraising for The Great Wheelbarrow Race and St Stephen’s Day are just a few other examples of where students uphold the value of service at our school.

As we look back on this year, we are grateful for the support of our dedicated teachers, staff, and families. Your encouragement and guidance have been instrumental in helping our students reach their full potential.  Teaching is often under sold as a profession, however each day it is evident how hard all our staff work to get the great student outcomes we highlight at the College.

I will be taking leave for the first 3 weeks of Term 1 next year; however I wish all our families a safe and restful summer break. Take this time to relax, recharge, and enjoy quality moments with your loved ones. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting year of learning and growth in 2025.

Regards,

Simon Vaughan
