Prep students have been developing their character skills through puppetry and script reading in front of their peers. Through the use of charades and utilising various drama techniques, students have developed a new found confidence for public speaking and acting. Prep students will continue to expand on these skills and elevate their solo and group performance skills towards the end of the term.
In the last two weeks our Year 1 and 2 students have been practising their striking skills. We have started with hockey skills and will move onto tennis rackets for the next two weeks. Students have learnt how to handle the equipment safely and skillfully. One of the games students have played to practise is called "Battleship Strike-down". The class is working as one big team to score as many points as possible and different objects are worth a different amount of points.
For students in Years 3-6, a significant part of Term 4 is dedicated to planning, creating, and presenting a Personal Project. This is an exciting opportunity for older students to create an artwork of their choice. They start with a week to develop a detailed plan outlining the materials and steps needed for their project. Years 3 and 4 have two weeks for the creation phase, while Years 5 and 6 enjoy three sessions. The final two weeks are reserved for students to present their artworks to the class.
This week, Years 5 and 6 students had their final week of creating their Personal Projects. This is the first year the senior students have had three weeks of creating time instead of two. This extra week allowed students to have an extra layer of detail to their artworks that ensured their visions came to life! I am so proud of their hard work and can't wait to hear their presentations next week!
