Principal's Message
Our children are our future...
Welcome to the start of Week 7 of Term 4. The weeks are flying by and we have only 5 to go until the main break. It is an exciting and busy time of the year for all. We have a meeting free week coming up. This means that we relieve our staff of before and after school duties so they can focus on gathering data to inform the end of year reporting cycle. It is a wonderful time to celebrate student progress. We are so proud of our kids for working hard to get smarter. Reaching your potential in any field of endeavour should be our goal as humans.
I have been spending quite a bit of time on staffing for 2025. Each year, it is a challenge to choose the absolute best staff we can for our children and our team. The diligence we put into this process is strong - our student outcomes depend on it.
I travelled to the Grade 5/6 Camp on Thursday and was blown away with the manners and conduct of our wonderful children. They are an absolute credit to themselves and their families. Our values of Character, Community and Learning were on full display. I am incredibly proud of these students. I want to also thank the staff and parent volunteers for giving up their personal time to assist the students in bringing them this experience. Camps would not run without a lot of goodwill and it is not easy being on camp, operating 24/7 for three days straight. Thanks to that team for everything they have done in supporting the students. Lastly, I am very grateful to all parents for supporting the camp. We value your trust in us.
Have a great week, everybody. The spirit of our community is so gentle and kind. It makes for a hopeful future of our planet.
Lots of effort has gone into preparing NAPLAN Family Snapshots. These are being sent out weekly via Newsfeed and we strongly encourage every parent to work together with their child to complete these challenges. It really helps prepare your child for NAPLAN 2025 (which all students in Australia in Grades 3 and 5 complete). They are fun challenges and doing them together as a family acts as a fantastic role model for all students.
Keep your eyes out for these Newsfeeds and do them weekly. It's fun!
A reminder to please check Lost Property if your child has misplaced anything. All clothing, lunchboxes, and water bottles are stored on the ground floor outside the library.
Labelled clothing often makes its way back to students, but the best way to ensure this is to check the Lost Property tub regularly.
Any unnamed clothing items that remain unclaimed at the end of the term will be placed in the sickbay for use during accidents or donated to the Second-Hand Uniform Shop. All unclaimed lunchbox containers or water bottles will be discarded on the last day of term due to hygiene concerns.
Please ensure all of your child's property is clearly labelled so that it can be returned to the appropriate student.
Lost Property is located outside the library. Additionally, there has been a special request to locate a lost helmet taken from the bike shelter. It is blue and may have been mistakenly taken home by another student. Please check your child's helmet to ensure they have the correct one. If they do not, please return the misplaced helmet to the office.
Finally, please remember to shut the bike shed door. We have had several items taken or stolen from this space. While we are working on a solution, we ask for your help by diligently locking the gate each time you use it.
