EISM Cross Country

Oxley performed very well at this year’s EISM Cross Country Carnival that took place on Wednesday 11 September at Ruffey Lake Park in Doncaster East. Our girls finished in second place with the College coming second overall in Division 2 – a great result for the College against some good competition on the day. Our Senior Boys and Senior Girls both won gold in the Open Division. EISM officials were not able to finish the event with the official trophy presentation due to inclement weather.

All age groups in the Cross Country ran a 3km course which was implemented last year after the EISM Board made this decision. We congratulate Mary S (12.7) and Ryan J (12.10) for each winning gold in the Open Division, also to Jess L (10.3) for winning gold in the Girls U/16 and Tori Seeney (9.11) for winning bronze in the Girls U/15. All three girls regularly attend Running Group on Thursday afternoons where the focus is on fitness training. Congratulations to these students on a great effort and to the rest of the Oxley team who represented the College.

EISM Volleyball Grand Finals

There was a great atmosphere in the Oxley Stadium on Thursday 12 September with many students supporting our Year 8/9 Volleyball B Grand Finals. The Girls Volleyball B team, Girls Table Tennis Team and Girls Rec Table Tennis Team were all premiers, winning their grand finals, while the Boys Volleyball B team just fell short against their rivals. Our boys scored more points in their game, but they lost by 3 sets to 2. Congratulations to the four teams for playing Grand Finals and especially to the three winning teams on their wins!
