From the Principal
Dear Friends,
As the saying goes, time flies when you are having fun. We at Oxley are well over the moon by now with all that has been packed into this term and the question of where has the time gone? What a momentous last few weeks of term we have experienced. Congratulations to all students who have achieved a personal best in their studies this term and who have enjoyed the activities of Wellbeing Week.
We especially celebrate the fabulous presentation of Finding Nemo JR. by the Junior School under the direction of Mr Jeffrey Clarke. Such a production brings together all the Arts of music, drama, and dance into a comprehensive program of great fun and enjoyment. The production gave opportunity for our younger students to display their considerable talents and teamwork. What a wonderful way to close the term and to take advantage of our community’s enthusiasm to attend the fully booked performances. Congratulations to the cast and whole production team for an outstanding musical.
This was closely followed by the Year 4 Camp and another remarkable Senior School Music Gala evening. We are really blessed with these rich programs and the dedication of staff that makes the College a place of so many delightful experiences.
This week we formally farewelled Robyn and Andrew Holland, who have been part of the College team for the last 10 years. While they are yet to realise what the new season of life will hold for them, we have expressed our deep appreciation for the major roles they have held here in hospitality, our international student Home Stay program, and of course, the Business Manager role. Robyn and Andrew have formed strong friendships with staff in the Administration and Executive teams that will no doubt keep many fond memories alive.
On behalf of the College staff, I wish everyone a refreshing couple of weeks. We look forward to another wonderful term to conclude the College year under the grace and goodness of God.
Warm regards,
Dr Douglas Peck
