Term 3 Birthday Party

Last week, we celebrated our July, August, and September birthday stars, a big celebration for 30 of our students. Five of our students were turning 18, a major milestone!

Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Mooncake Festival, falls on September 17th. In China, the best-known tale of this festival is the love story of Chang-E and Hou-Yi, while in Vietnam, the legend features a man named Cuội who hung on to a magical banyan tree as it floated up to the moon. The Mid-Autumn Festival tradition is associated with family reunions, moon appreciation parties, mooncakes, and lantern riddles. It is also a time for farmers to honor the harvest, relax, and spend time with their loved ones. There is a tale that the moon appears to be a full and brighter moon on that night.

In the spirit of this festival, our IS captains organised a celebration for IS students on Monday, with mooncakes and an award for the winner of the lantern riddles!
