As Term 3 draws to an end, we look forward to the warmer spring weather and the two weeks of holidays. It has been a busy term with numerous excursions, extra activities, sporting events and students immersed in their learning. Highlights this term have been:

  • Book Week Parade and activities, including mystery readers in the Primary School
  • Weekly wellbeing program for Years 3 & 4 - Hawks Friends
  • Young Leaders in School ProgramSchool Camps to Anglesea, Hiking camp to Cathedral Ranges
  • School excursions to the Melbourne Zoo, Jewish Holocaust Museum, Melbourne Magistrate Court, VPC Melbourne train line excursion, and the Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show
  • Young Leader's in School Program

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending our All Abilities Expo in Our Place. This is a wonderful initiative that is now in its second year. 

Government Schools Saving Bonus

Families with a child enrolled in a government school from Prep to Year 12 in 2025 will receive a one-off $400 School Saving Bonus. This support will help cover the cost of school uniforms, textbooks, and school activities like camps, excursions and sports.

 

There is no application required for eligible government school parents to receive the School Saving Bonus, however there are a few required actions for parents and carers.

 

Actions for parents and carers

To receive the School Saving Bonus, parents and carers of children who are attending a Victorian government school in 2025 are required to do the following by Friday 18 October 2024:

  • Complete enrolment: If your child, or children are changing government school for Term 1 2025, or starting Prep or Year 7 in 2025, please complete your enrolment now. enrolment. 
  • Check your contact information: Ensure your phone number and email address is up to date with your school. You can check this information by contacting your school directly.The School Saving Bonus will be emailed directly to parents and carers in November 2024. Please check your junk folder if you cannot locate the email. If you do not receive information by 25 November 2024, please contact your school for support.
