Echuca Aquatic Reserve Fieldwork

On September 4, our Humanities class got on the bus and headed over to Echuca's Aquatic Reserve. When we got there we started to take photos of pollution, wildlife and the stormwater drains. We talked about what goes into our river through the stormwater drains and the importance of reducing all types of pollution entering our waterways. We tested different types of water such as stagnant water and the river water to compare. We concluded that the stagnant water was cloudier and full of bacteria and was not as safe to drink as much as the river water.

We finished the fieldwork excursion identifying and describing strategies or improvements that could be put in place to improve the management of the river environment we have studied.
