PRINCIPAL UPDATE

Congratulations to all of our Grade 6 students last week that were presented with their badges for the year ahead.  I look forward to working with them all this year.

Can I please just remind families of current and past students that if you are using our school grounds over the weekend that you, please respect them.  It has been unfortunate to come in to school on Monday mornings to find rubbish throughout the school grounds.  In particular, yet again, I spent a long time on Monday cleaning up the prep courtyard that was left in a real mess. Rubbish and take away containers, sand pit toys broken, chalk thrown all over the place, along with drawings and wording that was not necessary.  Pipes and water troughs blocked with sand and rubbish.  It is unfortunate but we will be ensuring everything is now put away on weekends, to discourage people enjoying this space, as it only takes a couple of people to disrespect, and ruin it for everyone else.  Parents of past students, can I also ask you to remind your teenagers of this please.  If they are returning to the school on weekends, I expect they would be respectful of the shared community space.

It was great to see so many parents attend the Meet and Greets last week.  Staff enjoyed having a chat and learning more about the individuals within their class and how to best support them with their learning.

Thank you to staff for staying at school during this evening, you time was greatly appreciated.

Just a reminder that school photos are this Thursday, and we are hoping all students are at school for this.  Staff will have their photo first, then we will move through classes and finish with sibling photos in the afternoon.

As per our normal school day, students are required to be in full school uniform, white or navy socks and hair tied up if below the shoulders.

I cannot believe the Chilwell Fair is only 4 weeks away.  We are excited to be promoting our sponsors over the coming weeks and are currently confirming food stalls, along with student games and activities.

Communication will be sent out next week in regard to the event and what we are asking families to contribute in order to support the fundraising efforts of this event.  We are wanting to raise funds for glass sliding doors upstairs in the grade 3 and 4 learning spaces to support the acoustics in this space and the teaching and learning programs delivered.

There are only a couple of more sponsorship opportunities available for those interested and happy for interested businesses to contact us if wanting to chat.

Thanks everyone and have a great week.

Kind Regards,

Meg Bone
