We are happy to advise that Boxercise will recommence again in Week 2.

Boxercise is held every Thursday and Friday morning from 7:30 am - 8:30 am and all students are welcome to join in.  It is held in the Junior School playground.

Boxing gloves are provided.  So why not come along and get some exercise, make some new friends, and have fun?

2024 Kokoda Training Hike

Trip Date:            Monday 1 July – Thursday 11 July 2024

After wet and unfavourable conditions for our training dates in 2023, I would like to invite you to attend our training hike scheduled for Sunday 4 February.

For those who have forwarded an expression of interest and are planning on participating in this very worthwhile activity, it is of the utmost importance that you attend this training hike. A deposit will be due in the middle of Term 1 as our provider needs to start putting logistics in place.

We will be walking the same route as our last training hike to kick off this year’s training.

We will be walking from Cowan to Berowra, 12.9km (the easier direction).

This is an opportunity for all participants to meet, prepare, discuss and to demonstrate their commitment to the Kokoda Track Expedition 2024.

When:  Sunday 4 February 2024

Meet:   Berowra train station at 7:20 am (Train to Cowan at 7:35 am arrives 7:40 am)

Finish:  Berowra train station 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm (approx.)

Need:   2 litres of water (refill at Berowra Waters), hat, sunscreen, snacks, OPAL card, sense of humour

In the event of trackwork, we can do a car shuffle to Cowan from Berowra. In the event of severe weather or bushfires we will cancel the hike.

All members of the College community are welcome to attend these hikes

Details for the upcoming training hikes and payment details will be emailed out to those who have expressed an interest in the following week.

Duke of Edinburgh Award - Adventurous Journeys for the Silver and Gold Award

As part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, students need to undertake 2 Adventurous Journeys. At St Pius, the mode is Bushwalking.

If demand exists, then Adventurous Journeys for both Silver and Gold Award participants may be offered.

Can I ask that if your son has signed up to undertake the Silver or Gold Award (or intends on doing this in Term 1) and would like to be considered for an Adventurous Journey in Term 1 that they please meet with me or email me directly.

Training for these journeys takes place on Monday afternoons from 3:20 pm – 4:30 pm in S1.

Training will be offered for our Bronze participants in Term 2.

Please note that many opportunities to complete Adventurous Journeys exist external to the College.
