Our school collects and uses student and parent personal information for standard school functions or where permitted by law, as stated in the Schools’ Privacy Policy and the Schools’ Privacy Collection Notice.
Our Photographing, Filming and Recording Students Policy describes how we collect and use photographs, video and recordings of students. The policy also explains when parent consent is required and how it can be provided and withdrawn.
We ask parents to also review the guidance we provide on how we use Microsoft 365/Google Workspace for Education safely at the school and what parents can do to further protect their child’s information. If after reviewing the guidance, you have any questions or concerns regarding your child using Microsoft 365/Google Workspace for Education, please contact the school.
I have been asked several times how it is to be back at school for the 2024 school year, and to be honest with you all, it has been calm and exciting. The students seemed ready to return and wanting to see their friends again. They have jumped headfirst into establishing classroom routines and expectations, and are setting themselves up for a positive start to the year.
This year we have enrolled 17 new prep students and 4 students in other year levels. We welcome all these new students and their families to the Beaufort Primary School community.
This year is mapping out to be just as busy and fun as 2023, with our 5/6 students heading off to Canberra, 3/4 students off to Cave Hill Creek Camp, our Term 3 swimming program, along with various incursions and excursions throughout the year.
This coming Monday we will be presenting our school leadership badges. Parents are welcome to attend this special assembly. It will commence at 2.20pm on the deck, or in Drama Centre if weather turns.
Next Friday, our students in Years 3 to 6 will be taking part in the annual House Swimming Sports. On the day, students will complete in 3 events, concluding the day with the Parent, Teacher and Year 6 Student Relay. We are still looking for some parent volunteers for the day to help with judging and pool running.
We have a number of forms up on XUNO, in the Events section, that we ask all parents complete as soon as possible. These forms include,
A reminder to all parents, students should not be dropped to school prior to 8.30am, unless alternative arrangements have been made with the principal. Our yard is not supervised until this time. therefore, any student arriving before this will need to sit on the seats outside the school office and wait until the yard is supervised.
In 2024, we will be switching out the values of Respect, Responsibility and Safety for our new values of Respect, Integrity, Kindness, Excellence and Resilience. These values were established through the feedback from the students, teachers, parents and school council. When put together, they create the acronym of RIKER, which means Brave and Strong.
In Art, students in Years 3 to 6 are current designing a RIKER Mascot for our school. I can't wait to see what they come up with.
