Disablity Inclusion Reform

Jackson School is actively participating in The Victorian government's Disability Inclusion Reform. This initiative involves a thorough, collaborative approach to ensure students' needs are properly identified and addressed.

Below is a  summary of the key elements:

Tiered Funding Model: There are different levels of funding based on the specific needs of each student. The more complex the needs, the higher the level of funding and resources.

Collecting Supporting Information: Teachers and staff will gather evidence over  a 8-week period to help create a clear picture of each student's needs, strengths, and areas for support. This information will inform the adjustments and strategies put in place for the student.

Disability Inclusion Profile Meeting: A collaborative meeting will be held involving the classroom teacher, a principal nominee, and other relevant experts to discuss the student’s needs and determine appropriate adjustments. This team-based approach ensures all perspectives are considered when planning support.

Support from Leading Teacher: If a student in your class is part of this process, your Leading Teacher will assist you through the steps, offering guidance and ensuring you have the resources needed to implement the necessary adjustments.
