Book Week Children’s Book Council Australia

5 books x 27 classes = 135 readings.

That is a huge undertaking and that is exactly what our competent Year 6 Library Leaders, Izzy W, Alyssa L, Lucy D, Khalissa K, Oliver A, Minnie B, and Jarrah H have achieved.

They read at least 5 books from the CBCA, Early Childhood category to every class. Each class voted for their favourite book. This information was then used to establish ASPS’s overall favourite book.

See Lucy’s article… did ASPS agree with the CBCA judges?

The Y6 Library Leaders also organised the Book Parade at assembly last Monday. It was well done, colourful and energetic.

Thank you students, parents and teachers for participating so enthusiastically.

Thank you Year 6 Library Leaders for organising two amazing book week activities. Your efforts united our whole school and we had so much fun.

Book Week Parade

On Monday the 18th of August, our school had our fabulous Book Parade. Everyone came dressed up in their favourite costumes, from Wallys to Harry Potters, crayons and fairies!

We all paraded around the basketball court, led by the Year 6 library reps: Izzy, Alyssa, Khalissa, Minnie, Oliver, Jarrah and myself.

The book that ASPS voted for as our favourite was… Spiro!

And the Children Book Council of Australia (CBCA) chose… The Wobbly Bike!

We all had an outstanding time and look forward to next year's parade.
