Mr. Ryan's Report

Week 6! The weeks are falling like dominoes.

Last week the big event was the Year 8s and their trade training introduction day. Tamsyn (and a little bit of Brody) have written a recap of the day below:

"Last Friday us yr 8 student had our Yr 8 NCTTC Orientation Day, first we meet all the Donald kids & had a introduction from Tash S & then we were on our way to our activities, first up my group had Textiles with Miss Bishop, in Textiles we had to set up a sewing machine & then sew a dot to dot. Wood we made a miniature chopping board with Mr Edwards then we had recess after we had Viscom with Miss Sprake & we designed some shoes, next we went back to the Tafe building some Metal with Mr Moloney & learnt how to use to mental bender. Then we were back to Miss Bishop for Media where we made a little scene using medium shots, long shots & close up shots, & then our final class was Agriculture with Miss Windslade where we went down to the animals checked the chickens & weighed some lambs."

For the Year 8s, we will be collecting student preferences tomorrow! Hopefully the experience was great and all students have a great idea of what they want to do!

In Year 8 Science we have started learning about rocks! To investigate some rocks students brought in a rock from home (or one that was found on the way to the science lab), glued on some googly eyes and gave it a profile. Below is our rock family as well as each rocks name.
