Principal's Report

 Dear Families,

Book Week got off to a wonderful start with our students arriving dressed as their favourite characters. Throughout the day, they enjoyed a range of activities connected to Book Week. On Tuesday, students took part in an online session with Andy Griffiths, who shared insights into his writing process.

The winners of the Children’s Council Book Awards were also announced during the week. These award-winning titles are always an excellent choice to consider when selecting books for children.

CYBER SAFETY - VICTORIA POLICE

On August 26th we have arranged for Constable Brook Alexander to visit our school to present a Cyber Safety Session to the students. This is a refresh for the students and will be targeted for students in Grades 2 to 6. We are hoping to secure a parent cyber session with enough interest. Please complete the survey link below for anyone interested.

NAPLAN

It was very pleasing to see that our Relative Growth in NAPLAN for Grade five students was well above State, Similar School and our Network.

In NAPLAN, "relative growth" refers to a student's progress compared to other students with similar prior results. It indicates how much a student has improved on the test relative to their peers, not just their absolute score. High relative growth means a student improved more than 75% of students with comparable prior scores.

GRADE  3 & 4 CAMP

Thirty students headed off to Camp Toolangi yesterday, for three days of adventure. Over the past week they have been busy rehearsing their concert acts so I’m sure everyone will see a polished performance on the night.
