NEWS FROM OUR
STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL
The incoming SRC and Junior AECG have been very busy planning events for their term of office.
On Friday 22nd August our annual Book Week Parade was conducted to raise funds for the John Hunter Children's Department. Each year on behalf of all students at Inverell High School, the SRC donate $500 worth of books and activity packs for children to use whilst staying in hospital.
On Friday 29th August the SRC will support IDAHOBIT which is the International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination! All students are encouraged to wear purple and make a gold coin donation to this worthy cause so that we can all make a difference and stop discrimination.
On 12th September we will be holding a PINK and BLUE Day to support Breast Cancer and Prostate Cancer Support Groups within the Inverell District. All students will be encouraged to wear PINK or Blue for a gold coin donation and at the recess and lunch breaks the SRC will be selling all things pink and blue including cupcakes and coloured/flavoured lemonade.
All money collected will be donated to these cancer support groups.
Breakfast Club is held every morning in the quad near bus bay. So far we have served hot milo, smoothies, raisin toast and cheese toasties. The menu changes daily and as the weather warms up there will be new things available. If you have missed breakfast and need something warm to eat before school, please come and see the SRC, they will be happy to help you.
Thank you,
IHS SRC and Junior AECG members
