Book Week is here, and Great Ryrie is buzzing with excitement
This morning, we held our Book Week Dress Up Parade in the Sports and Performance Centre, and what a spectacular sight it was.
A huge thank you to all our students, families, and staff for the creativity, colour, and effort that went into the costumes which brought our favourite book characters to life. The sense of fun and community was wonderful to see.
Throughout the week, students have been taking part in themed days including Make a Story Monday, Turn a Page Tuesday, We Love Books Wednesday, Try a New Book Thursday and Fun Reading Friday.
(Please click on the Book Week Page for more information and the Year Level Pages for more photographs).
We’ve also had adventurous reading photos on display, a whole-school front cover and blurb design competition, and some year levels have joined in special online events, including the much anticipated session with author Andy Griffiths and illustrator Bill Hope.
Thank you again to Miss Hamilton and everyone for helping to make Book Week such a fantastic celebration of reading and storytelling.
UR Strong in Action
Our Year 3 students did a wonderful presentation of the UR Strong and Friendology program at their Family Evening last week. It was wonderful to see so many families
attend, and the students confidently explained activities like creating friend-o-meters, sketching friendship ninjas, and making ninja headbands that highlighted what makes us great friends.
Be sure to check the Year 3 page for more photos and highlights from the night.
Have a wonderful weekend with your family and friends and enjoy the warmer weather.
