🍫 Students Experience Bushfood Chocolate at Whittlesea Tech School

At the start of Term 3, our students visited Whittlesea Tech School to take part in the exciting Bushfood Chocolate Experience.

The program gave students the opportunity to explore the art of chocolate making with a unique Australian twist. They began by taste-testing different types of chocolate and bushfood flavours, learning how these ingredients can be combined to create delicious and original recipes.

Once they had chosen their flavours, students moved on to the creative stage – designing their own chocolate bar wrapper. This activity encouraged them to think about presentation, branding, and how to communicate their chocolate’s unique identity.

With ideas flowing, students then worked hands-on to make their chocolate from scratch, carefully blending flavours before pouring their creations into moulds. To finish, they proudly named their chocolate bar and wrapped it in their personalised designs.

The 3 days were a fantastic mix of creativity, learning, and of course, chocolate tasting! Students left with new skills, a greater appreciation for bushfoods, and their very own handmade chocolate bar to enjoy.

Don Bosco

Plenty River College students celebrated the end of term with an exciting excursion to Don Bosco Youth Centre, a safe and welcoming space for young people to have fun and spend time with friends.

The day was packed with activities, including in-ground trampolines, table tennis, air hockey, table soccer, billiards, basketball, and soccer, giving students plenty of opportunities to stay active, challenge themselves, and enjoy friendly competition.

After a morning of games and sports, students came together for a pizza lunch. The excursion was a fantastic way to end the term, offering a mix of fun, teamwork, and relaxation in a safe and supportive environment.
