Prayer

"Listen to what the Spirit is saying."

Please keep your thoughts and prayers with our Police Officers who protect and withhold peace and justice in our community.  They are mourning the loss of loved ones and colleagues.  It's a difficult time for all.

The Police Prayer

(This prayer is often said at a graduation ceremony)

God of all people, we know it is from you that we have learned what goodness and justice are.

You have given us the task of maintaining law and order in our community. We seek the strength to meet the many challenges encountered in this endeavor.

Give us the courage and the resolution to do our duty at all times, and such a respect and love for justice that neither promise nor threat will ever make us depart from it.

Help us with your guidance to be the Guardian and the Friend of the whole community; a friend to children, an example to youth, a counselor and adviser to all citizens.

Grant us the skill, and the wisdom, to make us always stronger in protecting and supporting the community. Guide us in knowing when to enforce and when to relax the letter of the law. Help us to be a personal example of the honesty, the goodness, and the justice which it is our duty to maintain, and grant that our actions will inspire in our community confidence in its police officers. We make our prayer to you, confident of your love and your compassion. Amen

Peace Prayer

Dear Lord

God’s message is love and peace.

Jesus is our hope.

Through him, we pray for peace in our world.

With him, we work for peace in our family and our school.

Amen

The Jubilee Prayer ~ Pope Francis

Father in heaven,

may the faith you have given us

in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,

and the flame of charity enkindled

in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,

reawaken in us the blessed hope

for the coming of your Kingdom.

May your grace transform us

into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.

May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos

in the sure expectation

of a new heaven and a new earth,

when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,

your glory will shine eternally.

May the grace of the Jubilee

reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,

a yearning for the treasures of heaven.

May that same grace spread

the joy and peace of our Redeemer

throughout the earth.

To you our God, eternally blessed,

be glory and praise for ever. Amen.

2025 Diocesean and School Theme

As we anticipate the year ahead, we are all invited along for the journey. No one is left out, left behind or not included. Can you imagine the incredible opportunities that lie ahead? Can you sense how much you will learn, grow and contribute to the lives of others this year?

As pilgrims, we are privileged to walk the same journey as Jesus did thousands of years ago. He brought hope and light to those who others ignored or brushed aside. Jesus took great risks to ground his pilgrimage in God’s love. This became his centre, his guide and his compass. This year, we are all called to journey towards the light that we experience in his presence and God’s promise of equity, justice and compassion.

How can you be a pilgrim who brings hope to others this year?
