It's hard to believe we are at the end of week 6 and we only have three more weeks of term 3 remaining. It's been pleasing to see students thoroughly enjoying the swimming program now we have our pool fully up and running. All classes are now attending weekly sessions with our swimming specialist teacher Ben and pool support staff Jen and Laura.
Over the past few weeks we have welcomed new Education Support Staff members to our team of staff:
It was a pleasure to attend Government House last week with some of Senior Secondary students. Students made a scarecrow, Koby during the Dream Big program as part of a Government House initiative. We were fortunate to be one of three schools chosen to attend a morning tea and tour of Government House. Our students represented Croydon SDS well, as they displayed our school values and engaged with Government House staff and students from other school politely and respectfully. I was proud of our students and enjoyed spending the day with them experiencing Government House.
Over the past two terms, we have been planning for our new website. We have been working with a Company Incline Digital to create a modern and user friendly site that showcases our school programs, facilities and community.
We have a company visiting our school on Wednesday 10 September to take photos and videos, including drone footage of the school. These will be used for the new website. We would like to capture our community at its best by having our students, staff, buildings and grounds looking good. We ask for your support for students to wear school unciform on this day, (Wednesday 10 September).
You may have noticed how lovely our grounds are looking. Our maintenance man, Al has been working hard to sprucee up our gardens areas all around the school. Our older areas are now merging well with the new
Now that stage one of our building master plan is complete, we are now thinking ahead for stage two. We are reaching out to hear what you would like to see for your child’s future at school; what building, facilities and resources they need to help them be successful. If you would like write a letter or note about what you would like to see at Croydon SDS, it would be great to hear from you. Please address any letters to myself, Bec Gilmore, School Council President. These can be emailed to the school to be passed on; croydon.sds@education.vic.gov.au
Your input is important to us, and we hope to use this to help us work towards the next stage of building.
Thank you.
Bec Gilmore - School Council President
On Wednesday 10 September we will be promoting the message to look out for one another by joining in RUOK Day. Students and staff will join in activities to learn ways we can others if they are okay and how we can help each other.
On Thursday 11 September, we have our whole school community Footy Day. We invite families members to wear their favourite football team or sporting club colours and join some fun activities at school between 9:30-10:30am.
