Parent Opinion Survey for 2025
The 2025 Parent Opinion Survey is underway and access PIN's have been provided. Thank you to the 49 families that have already completed the survey.
Can I encourage ALL families to complete the survey, even those who are incredibly happy with the school - we need to hear this too.
The survey will be open online from Monday 18 August to Friday 19 September 2025. Please contact the office if you have not yet received the access PIN.
Congratulations
Wakakirri: to every student and the teachers involved on the outstanding 'heats' performance, a massive congratulations on making it through to the Awards Performance (finals) on Monday 8 September. This is an outstanding reward for all the work and time commited to this event, as well as recognition of the excellent talent we have in this school. Good luck Waki Team.
Upgrades:
People may have noticed that part of the junior playground was out of action while we had some repairs done - the three platforms were removed and the rubber 'non-slip' surfaces were replaced. This was a safety issue and a good example of where the school spends the Buildings and Grounds contributions from parents.
We have also just received new Goal Post Padding and Nets for the oval - the cost of these items coming from the efforts of our wonderful parents committee (JPPC). It is always aimed that fundraising efforts from the JPPC go directly back to students.
AND, keep an eye out for the new development in the school grounds, going in over the school holidays and also funded by the JPPC.
Important Reminders / notes:
Disabled Parking on Petronella: There are 2 Disabled Parking spots that are placed just above the 2 Minute Zone on Petronella Ave, to the right of the main gate. Can I ask that these be left vacant for people with disability permits. Please do not use these as an extension of the 2 Minute Zone. Thank you.

Lunchtime Magic with Our Wellbeing Wizards!
This week, something magical began happening in the playground… Our Wellbeing Wizards from Level 4 have officially started their lunchtime adventures to help everyone feel happy, included, and connected!
With their Wellbeing Wagons full of fun supplies, the Wizards have been bringing joy to the yard through awesome activities like:
- Blowing bubbles
- Building with LEGO
- Playing giant Jenga
Tossing quoits
It’s been wonderful to see students laughing, playing, and making new friends. Whether they’re building with LEGO, chasing bubbles, or teaming up for a game of giant Jenga, there’s a real buzz of excitement in the playground. The Wellbeing Wizards are helping everyone feel welcome and valued, particularly those students who at times feel a little lost in the playground—and their efforts are making lunchtime something to really look forward to! These Level 4 leaders are doing a fantastic job showing kindness, teamwork, and creativity. We’re so proud of the way they’re helping everyone feel like they belong.
Wear it Purple Day - Celebrating Inclusion
Today JPPS staff are joining schools and workplaces across Australia to celebrate Wear it Purple Day—a day to show support for LGBTIQA+ young people and remind everyone that they belong.
At JPPS, we’re proud to be part of a community that values respect, safety and inclusion for all. We believe every student, staff member and family should feel welcome, supported and free to be themselves.
We know our school community includes families from many different backgrounds, cultures and faiths. While beliefs may vary, one thing we all share is the hope that our young people feel safe, respected and celebrated—just as they are.
Wear it Purple Day is about standing up for diversity, starting conversations, and wearing purple to show that we care. It’s also part of our commitment to the Child Safe Standards, which call on us to celebrate and protect every individual—no matter their background, identity or beliefs.
Welcome Stephanie
Please join me in welcoming Stephanie Spyropoulos to the JPPS staff. Stephanie will be working as an Education Support staff member in Foundation. Stephanie comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience supporting students with a wide variety of needs.
Have a wonderful weekend!
