School Chaplain's Message

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
One of the most beautiful aspects of our faith is the deep love and care that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ had for his Ummah that is, for us. Even though he lived over 1,400 years ago, he often prayed for you, thought about you, and wished for your success in both this world and the next.
The Prophet ﷺ once said: “Every prophet was given a supplication that was answered, and I have kept mine for my Ummah on the Day of Judgment.” (Sahih Muslim). This means that while other prophets used their special prayer in their lifetime, the Prophet ﷺ saved his for us to ask Allah for our forgiveness and mercy when we need it the most. What greater sign of love could there be?
His Love for Us
He would cry in prayer at night, asking Allah to forgive us, his Ummah. He reminded his companions again and again to take care of one another, to be kind, and to spread goodness. Near the end of his life, his words were: “Ummati, Ummati”, “My Ummah, My Ummah.”
Our Love for Him
Love is never one-sided. If he ﷺ loved us so deeply, then it is our duty to love him back. But what does that mean for us as young Muslims in today’s world? Learning His example, reading about his life (Seerah) and discover how he was patient, merciful, and caring. Following his Sunnah, actions like saying “Bismillah” before we eat or giving salaam to one another connect us to him. Sending Salawat, saying “Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad” is a way of showing our love and earning Allah’s mercy. Practicing good character when we show kindness, honesty, and respect, we are walking in his footsteps.
A Reflection for Us Today
In a time when love is often spoken about casually, the love of the Prophet ﷺ is something much deeper. It is a love that carries responsibility to live with dignity, faith, and compassion. By loving him, we strengthen our connection to Allah and remind ourselves that Islam is not just about rules, but about our relationship with Allah, with the Prophet ﷺ, and with one another. May Allah fill our hearts with love for His Messenger ﷺ, and may we live in a way that makes him proud of us as his Ummah.
