Our behavioural process

Reflection Room:

We have a clear and structured process in place to support positive behaviour and help students practice reflective thinking.

Minor Behaviours:

When a student shows minor misbehaviour, it will be logged. If a student accumulates three minor behaviours, this will lead to a more serious consequence, and the student will be asked to attend the Reflection Room. The Reflection Room provides students with an opportunity to reflect on their actions. Parents will be informed when this occurs.

Major Behaviours:

Serious or repeated misbehaviours are logged as major behaviours. When a student has a major behaviour, they will spend time in the Reflection Room during both recess and lunch for one full day. If this happens on a Friday, the Reflection Room time will take place on the following Monday. Parents will be notified if a student is required to attend the Reflection Room for a major behaviour.

This process is designed to help students reflect, take responsibility, and make positive changes. We appreciate your support in reinforcing the importance of positive behaviour at school.

SWPBS at CJC

At CJC, we are committed to fostering a positive learning environment through the implementation of the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework. SWPBS is a proactive approach to promoting positive behaviour across our school community. To ensure its success, we are working in collaboration with Anthony King, a mentor in SWPBS, to refine and enhance our practices. Together, with valuable input from our students, we have developed a Behaviour Matrix that clearly outlines the expected behaviours across different areas of our school. This matrix serves as a guide to help students understand the behaviours we expect and how they can contribute to a respectful, safe, and positive school environment. We are excited about the ongoing process and the positive impact it will have on our school culture.
