Z Club

Z Club is a voluntary group that has been running at our College since 2013. It is affiliated with Zonta International, and more closely, Zonta Club of Armidale. Here is a little bit of information about Zonta.

Mission

Zonta International is a leading global organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy.

In Zonta:

• We volunteer our time and talents to address women’s issues in our local community and worldwide.

• We belong to a strong organisation which focuses on sustainable changes.

• We develop ourselves while developing our society.

In other words, we empower and become empowered.

Here at O’Connor, we, as a club:

• Meet once a month to discuss initiatives and fundraising ideas
• Attend events related to our cause, eg. International Women’s Day Breakfast.
• Prepare care packages for those in need in our local community
• Globally, we prepare birthing kits for women in developing nations, where childbirth is often tricky due to a number of reasons
• Work with our local Zonta Club of Armidale.
