Classroom News

Welcome to a new year in F/1H. We have had a fabulous start to the year! 

Our first few weeks were spent getting to know each other better and learning about how we make our classroom a happy, calm and focused learning environment.   Here are our thoughts: 

• At Our Lady’s we are learners. 
• At Our Lady’s we include everyone 
• At Our Lady’s we respect our school. 
• At Our Lady’s we do our best and help other succeed. 
• At Our Lady’s we are kind to others. 

The Grade 1’s are proving to be amazing leaders, supporting our Foundies in the classroom and in the yard, helping them adapt to school life.  Here are some of our Foundies thoughts on school; 

Aalyiah: I like being at school with my friends and my big sister. 

Addyson: I like playing with Makayla and Skye at school. 

Makayla: I like making crafts.  

Layla: I like playing with my friends at playtime and drawing. 

Amaliah: When it's playtime I like going to the playground with my friends and my sisters.  

Here are some of our Grade 1’s thoughts on 2025; 

Mackenzie: I like colouring at school. 

Lily: I really like doing learning. 

Isabella: I like being in Grade one, because I can help the Foundies. 

Elisha: I like being a Grade one leader in the classroom. 

Spencer: I like playing the marble learning game in maths. 

Lylah: I like doing lots of learning in grade one. 

Adelaide:  I like doing our learning activities. 

Laken: I like the activities we do in our classroom. 

In week 4 we will begin out InitiaLit program which is extremely exciting.  InitiaLit is an evidence-based whole-class literacy program which will provide all children with the essential core knowledge and strong foundations to become successful readers and writers.
