Principal's Message

Dear Parent/s & Carer/s,

Welcome back to the 2025 school year! We have had a tremendous start to the year with all students returning with enthusiasm, ready to learn.

Our teaching staff have embarked on a new journey with Magnify Sandhurst which has required a change in teaching practice. MAGNIFY Sandhurst is an ambitious, evidence informed and wide ranging program being implemented at Our Lady's and across all Catholic Education Sandhurst Schools.

MAGNIFY Sandhurst is implementing a number of key programs and initiatives in 2025 that focus on:

• Catholic Mission
• Neuroscience of Learning
• Literacy
• Mathematics
• Classroom Routines and Management
• Instructional Coaching for teachers

MAGNIFY Sandhurst is committed to ‘Every Student, Every Teacher, Every School, Every Day’.

MAGNIFY supports a structured and adaptable approach and teachers will create a learning environment that is supportive and challenging, helping all students achieving their full potential. Teachers will ensure that students are actively engaged in their learning and can apply their knowledge in meaningful ways. They will focus on being responsive to student engagement and guided practice, providing a strong foundation for learning before advancing to complex tasks.

Students participate in Auslan, Physical Education, Visual Arts and Science as part of our Specialist program. All curriculum content is guided by the Victorian Curriculum and Catholic Education Sandhurst.

Staff and students alike have embraced the exciting changes that Magnify Sandhurst is bringing us!

If you haven't already, please make sure you are connected to Class Dojo. This is a great way to keep up to date with the daily running of our school. Please reach out to your child's classroom teacher to find out more, or pop into the office and Julie, Raff or myself can help ensure you get your invite. 

Also, if you haven't followed our Facebook Page, please do so! This is used to advertise our beautiful school so it is more promotional than informative. Jump on and help us showcase our wonderful school. 

Opening Mass

On Friday the 28th of February, we will be coming together as a school community to celebrate the commencement of our school year.

Please note;

• Foundation students will be presented with a candle
• Grade 6 students will receive their badge

Children absolutely adore when you can come along to our events so if you can, please come along.
