Fun in Foundation!

The students have had a fantastic start to their foundational year of school! They have had a seamless transition and are all smiles throughout the learning day. Learning lots and making new friends have been a blast, not to mention specialist classes and playtimes outside.

Each week, the students have been involved in some social skill sessions where we learn how to engage in new friendships, share and use our imagination to learn. The students have enjoyed interacting with different classes and this has assisted them to make new friendships on the playground.

We've been doing lots of learning in our classrooms. From letters and sounds to patterns and prayer spaces, we've done it all. Each Foundation class had a special piece to share with you below showcasing their amazing work.

We have been learning about the letters and sounds for - SATPINMD in literacy. The students are learning how to blend and segment using these sounds to read and write words. In maths, we have learnt about patterns and order events according to the time of the day. We made pasta pattern necklaces and used different materials to make patterns. We have sorted and matched different events into morning, afternoon and night. In religion, we have been learning about different prayers and prayer spaces. The students are doing a wonderful job at getting used to their school routine. We are all extremely proud of them!
