Message from the Principal
St Peter’s School - an empowered faith community to enrich the world.
Dear Families,
Welcome to the ninth week of term two.
Last Wednesday, our Foundation students had the opportunity to visit the church for the first time as a class group. Witnessing their wonder and excitement was a heartwarming reminder of the simple, pure faith that children have. Their curiosity and joy beautifully reflected the welcoming spirit of Jesus towards all children.
I would like to extend a sincere thank you to Miss Low and Mrs Devisser for their gentle guidance and for thoughtfully answering the students' many questions. This visit highlighted the profound sense of wonder that children bring to new experiences, reminding us of the beauty and simplicity of faith.
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for welcoming all children with open arms. Help us to see the world through their eyes, with wonder and awe. Guide us to nurture their faith and curiosity, and remind us of the simple, pure love you have for each of us.
Amen.
St Peter's Feast Day Celebration
Friday, June 28th, is our St Peter's Feast Day Celebration! We are looking forward to celebrating this special day with our school community. We will begin with a liturgy in the hall at 11:30 a.m., followed by a coffee cart in the school undercroft from 12:00 p.m.
Come celebrate St Peter's with us and join other parents and carers for a hot coffee, chai, hot chocolate, or tea after our liturgy. A wonderful opportunity to make new friends and catch up with old ones!
Please note that Term 2 will finish for students at 1:00 pm, and they will be dismissed from their classrooms at this time. We look forward to seeing you there.
Kinder Visits
We have been very busy with kinder visits, both welcoming children to St Peter's and visiting local centres. The purpose of these visits is to build strong community connections, introduce pre-school children to our wonderful school environment, and showcase what St Peter's has to offer.
Recent visits include Montessori Academy Clayton, Noriter Bilingual Early Learning, Goodstart Early Learning, Murray Street Kinder, and Kanooka Child Care.
We have also welcomed children from Montessori to St Peter's, and next week, we look forward to welcoming children from Goodstart Clayton. Our staff have actively presented our school at kindergarten information nights, with teachers visiting Evoke Early Learning this week.
We are excited to spread the word about our fantastic school. If you have a child due to start next year or know anyone wanting to enrol their child for Foundation 2025, please contact Margaret in the office as soon as possible.
Sacrament of Eucharist - Congratulations
We are delighted to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our First Communicants who received the Sacrament of Eucharist last week. It was a wonderful celebration, and our students were well-prepared and proud to receive the Blessed Sacrament for the first time. We hope you had a lovely day celebrating with your families. Our staff were also very pleased to enjoy leftover celebratory cake the next day! A special thank you to Fr Andrew, Mrs Devisser, Mrs Lopez, Miss Rumble and Mrs Bowen for preparing the students so beautifully.
Lost Property
Our Lost Property box is absolutely overflowing! If your child has misplaced a jacket, lunch box, or any other item, please take the time to go through our lost property box before the end of the term. Uncollected jumpers and uniforms without names will be donated to the second-hand uniform shop.
The lost property box is located at the bottom of the stairs near the 3/4 office area.
Thank you for your cooperation.
We warmly welcome two new families to our school over the past fortnight: the Gimson and Anish families. They have joined us in 3/4R, 3/4L, and Foundation. We are delighted to have you as part of our school community.
Enjoy the rest of your week,
Belinda Mihalicek
