In The Artroom
All grades created artworks of their choice this week.
On the last week of every term, students have the opportunity to choose an art medium and a topic to base their artwork on. There are 6 different activities set up for students to participate in, allowing a student-centred learning experience.
Some gr 3/4s have participated in lunchtime art group and have drawn and painted kookaburras. They have used acrylic and watercolour paints and added details with paint pens. These will be displayed in the Open Learning Area.
Ms Brown has posted 2 drawing competitions on our Hamilton Gray St Primary school facebook page, read the information and enter if you’re interested.
There are also photos from the Artroom on the school’s facebook page.
Artists of the week awards go to:
- Harvey Bennett
- Sophia Nice
- Adalynn Hann
Well done to everyone on a great week of Art!

STEM
This week in STEM, Preps, 1s and 2s looked at optical illusions.
Grades 3-6 had a ‘Challenge Week’, where they created a bucket tower strong enough to hold some weighted objects, with a maximum of 16 straws allowed per group. It was delightful to see the teamwork on display and hear the discussions whilst students completed their designs!
Well done to Nyah Ham and Jye Niblett for receiving STEM certificates this week.
