State Championships Cross Country 2024
On Thursday July 18th 6 students competed in the State Championships Cross Country at Yarra Valley Racecourse.

Well done to all those that competed in such tough conditions.
A big congratulations to the 12-13Yr Boys who came 2nd as a team in the Region Cross Country in Term 2 at Keilor Park.

Trivia Night & Silent Auction
Soccer Fundraiser Friday 9th August Queens Park (Geelong Amateurs Club Rooms).
Hosted by Catrina Rowntree. Enjoy and evening with friends, test your knowledge and bring a sense of humour to our Trivia Night Fundraiser. All proceeds will be used to support families in the cost of the Western Heights European Soccer Tour.
Canteen orders
A reminder that the Canteen will be ORDER ONLY for all main food items, such as salad rolls, sausage rolls, schnitzel burgers etc. The first 10 minutes of recess and lunch will be allocated to collection of food orders only. The canteen will then be open for any additional purchases of drinks and ice creams (Term 1 & 4).

BOOK MARKS – WHC Library Update
OPEN during school hours: 8:30am - 3:00pm, Monday - Friday.
Chess Tournament
We held a chess tournament in the library at the end of term. Final will be held on Thursday lunch.
Thank you to Mr. Gray for organising competition and thank you to all participants. There were some exciting matches!
Holiday Borrowing
Pop in and choose a few books to read over the holidays. You can borrow up to five books from our school collection, and you can also borrow from Geelong Regional Library online and pick them up from our library.

Borrowing books – use your WHC ID card to borrow books from our school library. You can easily find what you want on shelves as fiction titles have been organised into genres:

Books are loaned for two weeks.
Reminders:
The library is a community library and the space is shared with the public.
Please use respectful language and behaviour.
Eating and drinking sugary drinks in the library is not allowed. Water bottles are fine.
Please do not touch the heaters or air filters. Please ask a staff member for help.
Laptop use – students are welcome to use their private laptops for schoolwork and research. Gaming is not encouraged as the library is a space for reading and quiet activities.
