Discovery Centre 

It has been an excellent Semester in the brand-new Discovery Centre Library! The collection has continued to grow substantially, with a focus on non-fiction and secondary school content. 

Student engagement is remarkable, with enthusiastic lunchtime helpers, frequent borrowing and book requests. Students have been improving their recognition of the cataloguing system and Years 3+ have been navigating the catalogue computer. 

This being my first year at Christway College, I have been astonished by the reading culture that has been cultivated at the school. Due to this, in term two we increased the Year 4 and 5’s borrowing allowance from two (2) to three (3) books per person. Secondly, students will now be able to borrow items over the school holidays. 

It is important to note that if a book is lost or damaged beyond repair, there will be a charge placed on the student’s school fees after communication with the parent/guardian. 

Enjoy the holidays and get ready for both, the Scholastic Book Fair and Book Week in term three.
