Student Leaders Report

Hello Kismet Community,

Robotics

2 weeks ago the Kismet Robotics Team went to the Dulap Wilim Hub at Sunbury Heights Primary School. We had an amazing time; we completed the project for Lego and next time we are giving other teams a gift as part of our project.

Winter Sports

This week the year 5/6s competed in the Winter Sports. The netball open team, girls’ netball team, girls’ t-ball and girls’ soccer team all made it into the grand finals, with some of these teams making the next level (Division). All teams played very well, and we had such an amazing day! Congratulations to all the competitors.

Successful Grants

Our school was lucky enough to win a grant from Greater Western Water of $20,000 dollars. We were also lucky enough to win a grant from Hume Council. Kismet will be given up to 50 trees, along with stakes and guards to protect the trees until they can grow independently. Tree delivery is due to commence from the 15th of July when we return for Term three. We were also a successful school through the Hume Council Seedlings for School Program. Kismet will receive nine boxes containing 54 seedlings in each box. We will plant these around our school, again delivery of these will coincide with mid late July in Term three.

What a fabulous week it has been at Kismet Park!

Thank you,

School Captains Ava H, Ava Q, Jai and Max

Container Collection Update

As of Week 9, we have recycled a total of 1975 containers. The container collection has been going crazy! The trophy has been in hot demand, and it has been a great incentive for our students.

Keep collecting for a good cause everyone!

Greater Western Water Meeting with Josh Bull

On Wednesday the 12th of June at 11:50am, we gathered at the office to meet Josh Bull, Greater Western Water and some indigenous representatives.  Miss Davina, Miss Lane and Ms Brooke were also there. Once everyone was gathered, we headed over to the indigenous garden, and when we got there, Amara and Brenna (JSC reps) held up our school banner while Lily and Xavier (JSC reps) stood in front.

Lilly announced the Acknowledgment to Country, and after that everyone clapped. The officials informed us with information about what was happening along with the Acknowledgement of Country. We took a walk down to the veggie patch and Miss Davina informed everyone about the plans for the future that we wish to achieve with the money that Miss Davina won for the school. Photos were taken by the photographer around our beautiful veggie garden. Then the awesome Josh Bull (MP) came back to our classroom and we took some selfies with him. Stay tuned on media for the photos of us all.

Thank you, and have a good day.

Xavier, Amara, Lily and Brenna
