Kaboom Percussion Incursion

We hit the ground running with Laura and Aiden from Kaboom Percussion giving us a very engaging and mesmerising performance using known and new instruments. It really made the students think about "What is music?" and "What is an instrument?" Kaboom have loads of videos if you want to watch or try as a family youtube.com/c/kaboompercussion

Here are some reflections from the session....

"You can make music out of big tubs that you sometimes stir concrete in" Harvey

"I learnt we can make music out of nearly anything" Hunter

"You can make different sounds out of different things"

"You can use your body to make music" Remy

"Percussion instruments can be played by hitting, shaking or scraping"

"The funniest part was the play"

"I still don't know how they did the magic with water bottles under the cups"

"I liked seeing Valentina and Jesse act things out"

Special mention to Harry in Prep who brought a newly made drum kit to class this week that he made after the Kaboom performance. Your creativity is brilliant!
