5/6 CLASSROOM
As Term 2 comes to an end, the Grade 5/6 students have reflected on all the learning and activities we've undertaken. What a busy term it has been!
In English, we've focused on punctuation, vocabulary, and grammar. We've explored complex sentences and continued to improve fluency and comprehension.
In Maths, we've covered topics such as reading time, subtraction, decimals, fractions, shapes, length, perimeter, data, and statistics. We've also practiced graphing and interpreting data from these graphs.
We had an exciting camp at Burnside in Anglesea, where we made new friends with the Holy Rosary students. We went biking, participated in a scavenger hunt, visited the beach, and even climbed a ten-meter pole to ride down a flying fox—an experience Mrs. Brockett has now checked off her bucket list!
The students have thoroughly enjoyed working on their cars in STEAM with Mr. Kerrins, and they are functioning really well now.
In our Cross-Curriculum activities, we've been learning about business concepts, specifically needs versus wants, which has led students to explore what businesses they might want to set up. They've been working hard on their ERP projects, preparing for the EXPO on Wednesday. We look forward to seeing you at school.
In Religion, the students have studied the role of the Church in our community and how they can emulate Jesus. Recently, we've delved into the history of the Bible, how it was compiled, and the authors of its various parts.
I wish to thank all the families of the students in our grade for your support. The students are learning a lot and are happy, which says a lot about the support they are receiving both at home and at school. I hope you all find some family time to take a break over the school holidays together.
