F1 Australian Grand Prix Excursion
This month, our Grade 6 students had an exciting opportunity to attend the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park on Thursday 5th March.
This special excursion gave students a chance to see learning come to life. Throughout the day, they explored a range of hands-on activities and interactive displays. These experiences showed how subjects like Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) are used in real-world careers such as motorsport, aviation, robotics and design.
It was wonderful to see their curiosity, teamwork and enthusiasm as they explored the different exhibits and challenges. We are very proud of how our students represented our school and made the most of this fantastic opportunity!
Below, two of our Grade 6 students share their experiences from the day:
F1 Excursion 2026
On Thursday the 5th of March, 36 grade six students went to the F1. The day was filled with excitement from the moment we hopped on the bus. Once we got off the bus, we split up into our four groups and each group started out their adventures and explored activities throughout Albert Park, Melbourne.
Throughout the day, there were two races happening. We watched the first race while we ate our snack, then at lunch time we watched the second race, which was the 1950s F1 cars race.
RMIT and Monash Universities had some cool activities such as RMIT having an interactive robot dog, a one-of-a-kind solar car named Priscilla that you could sit in, as well as robot soccer players, and Monash having a station where you could make a F1 car out of Lego. There were lots of other branded stalls that we got to check out. At the end of the day, we all hopped back on the bus and headed back to school.
