This is my 29th year working for Catholic Education – Cairns. I have spent 20 years working in senior school leadership with the past 16 years in the role of Business Manager at St Stephen’s Catholic College. Every day is a challenge which I really thrive on.
I have a theory that Term 1 in FNQ is always the hardest. The weather is hot and very wet. We have already experienced flooded ovals and blocked student travel routes. All the new students are adjusting, with the Year 7s nervously finding their feet whilst the older students face new responsibilities, increased workload and complex challenges. New staff are navigating unfamiliar systems and attempting to build meaningful relationships with colleagues and students.
As we draw close to the Easter break, we have time to pause and reflect on our journey and renew for the next term.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our community a very Happy and Holy Easter break.
