Principal's Report

As we come to the end of term, I would like to take a moment to reinforce the updated Behaviour Code from the Department of Education, which centres on three key expectations: being respectful, responsible and safe. These are not just words, but clear standards that guide how we expect all members of our school community to act each day.
Being respectful means treating others with kindness, fairness and understanding, and ensuring that everyone feels included and valued. Being responsible means coming to school prepared to learn, following instructions and routines, and taking ownership of actions and learning. Being safe means making choices that protect ourselves and others, both in person and online.
Students are expected to consistently meet these expectations. This includes speaking and acting respectfully, allowing others to learn without disruption, following staff directions, using technology appropriately, and resolving differences calmly. It is also important that students understand that unsafe or inappropriate behaviours—such as bullying, harassment, or bringing prohibited items to school—will not be tolerated, and staff will take appropriate action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all.
We appreciate the support of families in reinforcing these expectations and helping students understand the importance of their behaviour in maintaining a positive school environment.
Our recent Cross Country event was a fantastic success. It was inspiring to see such enthusiasm, determination and sportsmanship from all participants. Events like these highlight the strength of our school community and the way students support and encourage one another.
Looking ahead, we warmly invite students and families to be part of the ANZAC Day march on Saturday 25th April. It would be wonderful to see as many of our students as possible attend and represent the school with pride on this important occasion.
We would also like to remind families about our upcoming Transition Fair on 29 April. This is a great opportunity for Year 5 and 6 students to experience a taste of high school and learn more about our 2027 Year 7 High Potential and Gifted Education Extension class. We encourage all interested students and families to attend.
I would also like to take a moment to inform families about the rising cost of fuel, which is having an impact on our school bus service. While this service is already heavily subsidised through school levy contributions, it is likely that an increase will be necessary in Term 2. We will review the situation over the holiday period and provide families with further information as soon as possible.
As we approach the Easter break, I would like to wish all students and families a safe and enjoyable holiday. We hope you have a restful break and take the time to recharge.
We look forward to welcoming students back for Term 2 on 22 April.
Thank you for your continued support.
Natalie Hill
