WACoA Carnival
What an amazing weekend at the WACOA Carnival last week. All the events were run in great spirit, and it was wonderful to see the interaction among students from different colleges and staff. Once again, this was a very successful event, but these undertakings don’t happen without people planning and driving them.
This year, Mr Swallow, Mrs Armstrong, and Mrs Hickman were some of the main players, so a huge thank you to them. A special mention also goes to the amazing kitchen crew, who served up wonderful food throughout the event. Everyone was in awe of the spread provided. Thankyou.

Week Activities
It has been another very busy week. Monday saw the grand finals of the town basketball competition, with several of our students involved throughout the season. Monday also saw a group of students venture off to Denmark to compete in the 2026 Gate to Plate School Challenge.
Yesterday was an especially early start, with students departing at 4.00 am for an excursion to the Canning Vale Markets.
P.A.R.T.Y. Program
The first group of Year 11 students travel to Bunbury Hospital today to participate in the P.A.R.T.Y. (Prevent Alcohol and Risk‑Related Trauma in Youth) Program. This program is run in conjunction with Royal Perth Hospital and is one of the best courses I have seen.
The program highlights the real‑life consequences of risk‑taking gone wrong, taking students through the process from the initial accident/incident to ICU, by showing what's involved along the way. Importantly, it shows the significant impact such events have on loved ones.
I highly recommend this program for young people, particularly those beginning to drive. Rather than simply telling students what not to do, it encourages them to think through their decisions and understand how their choices can help avoid potentially disastrous outcomes.
Cyclone Narelle's Outer Bands
With the wild weather expected over the weekend, we strongly encourage our student drivers to remain focused, adjust their speed to suit the conditions, and expect water and fallen debris on the road. Please take care and drive safely.
End of Term 1
Next Thursday, on the 2nd April, students who don’t have parent-teacher interviews may leave at 10.00 am for the Easter break and school holidays.
Students are asked to please submit a REACH leave request by Tuesday night to assist with catering, transport arrangements, and duty of care for those students remaining on site. Can I please ask families to discuss travel and leave arrangements over the weekend?
Students may return to the site after 3.00 pm on Sunday, 19 April 2026.
