Principal News

Dear Marian Community,
We end this very busy term on Holy Thursday, with a whole school liturgy and a reflection on the Stations of the Cross followed by the school Cross Country at Lake Wyangan. This is our last liturgical or Eucharist celebration with Father John, who will be leaving the Griffith Parish to take up a position as Administrator with Leeton Parish. Thank you Father John from all of us, congratulations and we wish you all the very best in your new role in the Diocese of Wagga Wagga.
There are some amazing sports, arts, academic and pastoral and wellbeing activities in place this term that our teams and students have made possible through their dedication and passion. Of special note is the Award for Exemplary Service to Catholic Education presented to Mrs Julie O’Keeffe at the Catholic Education Awards Dinner last week. Congratulations Julie! This award is so incredibly well deserved for your caring service, commitment and concern for our students and families.
To Mrs Laura Gaudie (formerly Miss Frost), we wish all the best. Mrs Gaudie is taking a period of parental leave starting next term. We also congratulate Mr Alex Forrest, who will be taking a much shorter period of leave following his wedding in the next two weeks. Mr Bipin John has taken on a new position in North Queensland and we thank him for his service to the College over the last year.
In Term 2, the College is transitioning to a new uniform service provider through Noone School Uniforms. Noone will operate out of the Marian Uniform Shop from Week 2. As well as offering face to face service, Noone will provide an online uniform service available from the Marian website. Once the transition is finalised very early next term, communications will be sent to all families around the uniform service and sales for Term 2. In the meantime, our uniform shop is open at the usual hours.
For all of us at Marian, both students and staff, it has been an exceptionally busy and productive term of faith, learning, care, service and stewardship. We are all looking forward to Easter and the sacred celebrations that Easter brings, followed by a well deserved rest during the term break.
Easter stands at the heart of our faith, the celebration of Christ’s Resurrection and the triumph of life over death, hope over despair, and light over darkness.
(from Together in the Diocese of Wagga Wagga March 2026, p.5).
To the families, students and staff team at Marian Catholic College, I wish you all a very blessed and peaceful Easter and a safe and happy holiday.
Kind regards
Dr Penny Ludicke
