This week’s whole school focus is on our 'Slow Zones'. Teachers will be explicitly teaching the routine to children on the expected behaviours when children are moving through the Slow Zones. Teachers will follow the principles of PBIS (Positive Behaviours Interventions & Supports) by:
Teach - Teach the appropriate skills and behaviours
Model - Model to students the appropriate skills and behaviours
Practise - Practise by acting out role plays
Acknowledge - Teachers will acknowledge students when they demonstrate the behaviours by positive reinforcement
Correct - By extra social skill instruction where needed.
Please discuss this routine with your child/ren emphasising that they should use the toilets at school just as they do at home.
10 Tips for role modelling positive and mindful technology use
As has been our tradition, we will celebrate our wonderful diverse community by holding a cultural evening on October 21st in Term 4, Week 3.
We would love it if families would be willing to run a traditional game with a small group and are calling for any families that would like to bring along a traditional dish to share.
Please find attached a Google Form to complete both to volunteer for a game and food as well as an RSVP so that we know how many to cater for.
