Dear Families,
Very exciting news! We have successfully applied for a Supplementary Capital Grant to refurbish our senior toilets. We are finalising drawings with b3 Architects and will go to tender shortly. We are also putting an Expression of Interest call out for Building Contractors with a Commercial License who might be interested in completing the project. See below for more details.
We also have the installation of the new junior playground locked in for the upcoming holidays. A special thank you to all our sponsors ( see below) and the P&F for all their work in this space. There is much to be grateful for and excited about.
Cultural Day - TOMORROW
We have our cultural day tomorrow. Thank you to Ibu Liana for all her work organising this experience for our children. Parents and friends are most welcome to attend the concert at 2:30 pm in the Hall.
Sandhurst Magnify: Every Student, Every Teacher, Every School, Every Day
Catholic Education Sandhurst Limited, under the leadership of Kate Fogarty, presented Sandhurst Magnify to Principals and Senior leaders last Thursday. This project will be officially launched at the beginning of 2025. This is an incredibly exciting time for our Diocese. Further information will be emailed to families in the coming days.
CES School Engagement Survey
If you received an email to complete this survey, please, please get on and do it!
This information is so valuable in setting the future direction of our school community.
Microsoft 365
All Catholic schools within the Sandhurst Diocese will be migrating to Microsoft 365. Like many school systems, CES Ltd recognised that the implementation of M365 across the schools, offices, and all learning centres could accelerate the governance necessity to ensure that equality of access is achieved and that the risk of cyber-attack and data breach was minimised.
On Tuesday, our school community migrated to Microsoft 365. M365 is a cloud-based productivity suite that includes applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint. It will replace the Google Applications that we currently use. Staff and student email addresses will remain the same and will be accessed through Outlook.
We thank our school community in advance for their patience and understanding as staff and students familiarise themselves with our new operating systems.
Mobile Phones / Smart Watches
Please refer to our Mobile Phone and Smart Watch policy. These devices are not to be used at school. If your child needs a device for safe passage to and from school, it must stay in the child's bag. This includes smartwatches, as they are a distraction to learning for the student and others. St Therese's takes no responsibility for the device if it is lost or damaged; the responsibility lies with the family.
Family Literacy Activities
This week's winner is the Geary Family from Grade 3 for their Category Challenge.
Thank you to the 44 families who entered this fortnight. It is amazing to see so many families engaging in our learning activities. Our winning family will receive a Snakes & Ladders and Ludo game pack.
Our Family challenge for the next fortnight is Vocabulary Challenge.
Please drop your entries in the Office when they are completed.
