Year 4 Camp
The year 4s set off to Camp Rumbug on the 14th of August. Once they arrived they found out their cabins and activity groups. Then the 4s did their first activities. Some groups did the dirty Mud-run and cold Raft-building, others low ropes and tiring Canoeing. Soon after, they had some free time to explore the camp. Later the 4s went down for dinner, delicious pasta. Next, they had dessert. After that, the year 4s did their first night activity, Passport to the World. They had to make groups of 7. Then the instructor, Jesse, told them a country to find around the camp and to answer the questions. If people wanted to they could make a song about their country. Then everyone went to their cabins and had 30mins to get ready for bed. Most cabins fell asleep but some were naughty and kept talking.
The 4s woke up bright and early. Then they went down for breakfast. After that everyone started their next activities. The activity groups did half the activities before and the others after lunch. The activities were Treeclimb, Giant Swing, Team Challenge and Initiatives course. Everyone was exhausted so in free time no one was really running around. After that we all had dinner and then a campfire. Next was bed.
The 4s were really sad to leave and pack up everything. Then they had lunch, and a choice of an apple and a cookie. The bus trip home was a sad one, everyone was tired, sad and happy all at the same time! But they were excited to see their family!

The Year 5 & 6s have been learning about poetry this term. We have spent 2 weeks learning how to write poetry, using language to match purpose and audience. From writing features to different structures (haikus, free verse and limericks), we had so much fun. Here are some published pieces from 5/6MC.
The Year 2s have been learning all about fractions this term, including halves, thirds and eighths. Students have developed their knowledge of identifying fractions in shapes and collections and enjoyed using chalk to show their understanding last week.
Gymnastics Club
Last Monday, we had our first Gymnastics Lunch Time Club session. Gymnastics Club has been created and run all by some very keen Year 4 students. They have planned the activities, created the posters and spoken with Duncan to get their club up and running. Gymnastics Club is for Prep - Year 2 students every Monday lunch time.
