Lord God almighty, bless our grandparents with long life, happiness, and health. May they remain constant in your love and be living signs of your presence to their children and grandchildren. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
Thank you to our grandparents and special friends who joined us last Friday to celebrate Grandparents' Day. It was fantastic to see so many visitors in our school for the Liturgy and shared morning tea.
Pope Francis told the World Youth Day crowds in Brazil. “How important grandparents are for family life, for passing on the human and religious heritage which is so essential for each and every society! How important it is to have intergenerational exchanges and dialogue, especially within the context of the family. Children and the elderly build the future of peoples: children because they lead history forward, the elderly because they transmit the experience and wisdom of their lives. This relationship and this dialogue between generations is a treasure to be preserved and strengthened.”
We are thankful for your great wisdom and experience, which is passed from generation to generation and we celebrate the gifts all our ancestors have forged for us - the gifts of life and love. We give thanks for all of the guidance and encouragement. A special mention to Julie Moran and granddaughters, Nina & Myah Power who lit a candle during our liturgy reminding us of God’s presence, around and about us, through us, with us and in us.
Our students will be making their Sacrament of Reconciliation on the 2nd September at 5:30pm in our St Patrick's Church. Please note the change of date.
A message from Caritas Australia/Project Compassion:
"Project Compassion 2024 has wrapped up for another year, and we are filled with gratitude for the incredible commitment and compassion demonstrated by your school throughout Lent. We are thrilled to announce that Project Compassion 2024 has raised an astounding $9.7 million to help vulnerable communities globally.
Your school has played a vital role in fostering hope, standing in solidarity and acting as a beacon of hope, for all future generations to come. This certificate is a small way to acknowledge the significant contributions your school has made towards creating a more just and compassionate world.
We would like to express our sincere thanks for your active participation in Project Compassion, and we look forward to continuing on this meaningful journey together again next year. Together we are creating a legacy of compassion that resonates far beyond the walls of our schools."
