University Open Days

In August and September universities and colleges will open their doors to the public for a day. Apart from being heaps of fun (think live bands, free food, uni mascots walking around campus, demonstrations, competitions, giveaways and workshops), you will be able to do the following:

  • Attend information sessions on the courses you’re interested in.
  • Speak directly to course advisers, lecturers, current students and faculty advisers.
  • Tour the campus, labs, and accommodation.
  • Talk to different clubs, societies, and sports teams.
  • Learn about global exchange, student leadership programs, internships.
  • Get information about services such as disability support, counselling, legal advice, and onsite medical services (e.g., pharmacy, doctors).
  • Learn about scholarships and financial assistance.

Should parents go?

Absolutely! Parents sometimes have different questions than students and are looking for different information, such as on-site campus security, job outcomes for courses, and financial support. It’s crucial to for both students and families to gather information together and then assess it as a team.

After a successful and popular Allied Health Taster Day at GV Health in June, GMLLEN is excited to announce the Allied Health Futures Forum, showcasing Allied Health professions available in the region and their education pathways.

The night will be held on Wednesday 28 August with more than 15 private Allied Health providers coming together to share insights into their daily professions; to help students gather all the knowledge they need to make decisions about their future.

The students and their parents/carers will have the chance to meet the practitioners and discuss their education and career journey so far, what they love about their work and answer questions about their disciplines – what attracted them, the traits you need to succeed in their fields and how to make a job in Allied Health a reality.

We will also hear from a current university student, current Allied Health GAP year students and industry experts. Universities will also be in attendance to answer questions.

More details of the night are in the flyer below.

Students are asked to register their attendance, plus number of adults accompanying them, by clicking this link.
